Research articles and compositions should be submitted electronically to email@example.com. Our Editorial office will acknowledge the receipt of materials. If you do not get a reply within two days, please resend your work.
Please submit your research articles in Word format, and your musical scores in PDF format. Accompanying materials (optional) for the scores you send should be included in the general PDF file.
Title page of each submitted work should contain Authors’ names, affiliations and contact information (email). This is necessary to allow every person who is interested in your work to contact you.
Contacts with the Authors who would not like to disclose their email addresses to wide public will be held via IJCC administrative email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Submission of an article or a composition implies that it has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and that its publication is approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out. The Editors reserve the right to edit or otherwise alter all contributions, subject to the Authors’ approval.
Copyrights for research articles and musical scores published in IJCC are retained by the Authors. Authors also retain rights to perform their compositions published in IJCC by themselves or to transmit them for performance to other musical organizations. The Journal is not responsible for subsequent uses of the works.
Composers submitting musical scores employing verbal texts written by other persons are fully responsible for settling the copyright matters with the authors of the texts or their legal heirs. IJCC will not be responsible for the cases when the verbal texts are employed without their authors’ consent and/or when the respective authors are properly compensated by the composers.
Peer Review Process
All materials submitted to the International Journal of Contemporary Composition will be sent for review to at least one expert in the relevant field. All the efforts will be made in order to ensure that the final decision on each submitted work is made within one month.
Article Processing Charges
In an open access model, the publication costs of an article are paid from Author's research budget, or by his/her supporting institution, in the form of Article Processing Charges. These Article Processing Charges replace subscription charges and allow Editors to make the full-text of every published work freely available to all interested readers. In addition, Authors who publish in our open access journal retain the copyright of their work, enabling the unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction of the materials in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited.
Publishing in IJCC requires Article Processing Charges of 260 USD for each research article or musical score (possibly accompanied by the Author’s explanations) that will be billed to the Submitting Author if his/her work is accepted for publication. Please note that the ability itself to pay the publication fee does not guarantee acceptance of your materials. Only the works recommended for publication by the Reviewers will be accepted for publication in IJCC.
